Wellbeing

We have recently achieved the Wellbeing Award for Schools, proving our commitment to the wellbeing of students, staff and parents/carers.

As the academy moves forward, we will be looking to introduce a Wellbeing Designated Lead who will oversee all strands of wellbeing within the Academy. They will be Mental Health First Aid trained to ensure we can point all stakeholders in the correct direction.

About the Award:

This whole-school award focuses on ensuring effective practice and provision is in place which promotes the emotional wellbeing and mental health of both staff and students.

The award has a focus on changing the long-term culture of a school/academy and embedding an ethos where mental health is regarded as the responsibility of all.

With this award, we can:

  • Show our commitment to promoting mental health as part of academy life
  • Improve the emotional wellbeing of our staff and students
  • Ensure mental health problems are identified early with appropriate support provided
  • Offer provision and interventions which match the needs of our students and staff
  • Engage the whole-school community in the importance of mental health awareness
  • Capture the views of parents, students and teachers on mental health issues.
