Our Sixth Form has a policy of 96% attendance. If the attendance of any student falls below this level, they will be contacted by the Head of Sixth Form and parents will be informed. Detailed attendance audits will take place every half term.
Our students must adhere to a dress code which reflects the responsibilities they have for younger students in preparation for the world of work.
The dress code is defined to all as ‘smart office wear’ and students are expected to dress in a manner that would be acceptable for a member of teaching staff. Sports wear is only appropriate if a student is undertaking an active lesson from the Sports department on a particular day.
High expectations and a positive ethos are at the heart of our successful Sixth Form. Our aim is to help students develop both academically, personally and professionally by providing a full and varied curriculum, giving continuous support, providing a safe environment in which to work and ensuring that all our students are provided with high value work experience for one day per week.
The role of a Sixth Form tutor is an exceptionally important one and is very different in many respects to the role of a tutor in the rest of the school. The aim of this handbook is to give you a detailed overview of your role as a tutor and to explain what students in your tutor group should be doing.
