Ofsted graded us as ‘Outstanding’ recognising our improved and consistently high standards of behaviour, attendance and punctuality as well as the academic success. Our students both achieve and enjoy their time at The Academy. We are committed and focussed on providing the highest quality learning and working activities and experiences so that we can be the best that we can be today, tomorrow and in the future. We aim to be excellent.
‘I am really excited about the future of The Ockendon Academy and our ambition to have even better results and improved facilities as well as our bid to be a Teaching School as well as develop a Studio School as a school within an Academy’.
Please join us and share that ambition for the future and your future.
Teaching Awards
In 2008, Mrs King was recognised as Headteacher of the Year 2008 for the South East of England. This award was announced and presented at Canterbury Cathedral in June 2008.
This was an outstanding achievement and was truly deserved. Mrs King has led the school community in an unprecedented level of change and the school’s achievements are due to her leadership and the hard work of everyone in our school community.
Further information about this prestigious award can be found at the Teaching Awards Website
The sponsors of the Teaching Awards have provided a visit and activity day for students and have invited Mrs King to fly an RAF training plane.
