Academic Progress
Progress Reports
Five times per year, parents will receive a Progress Report. This is a record of their child’s academic achievements and progress in each subject.
Target Setting and Review
Parents have the opportunity to discuss their child’s progress with tutors and set targets for the coming term at the Whole School Target Setting & Review Days, which occur in November and June each year.
Parents Evenings
In addition to progress reports and Target Setting & Review Days, there are arranged two Consultation Evenings (“parents evenings”), which take place in September and February. Students in Year 9 who are preparing to take their ‘options’ for GCSE and other Key Stage 4 subjects will have a Consultation Evening held in February.
We are please that Consultation Evenings and Target Setting & Review Days are frequently attended by local colleges and establishments of tertiary education. It is common to see representatives of Palmer’s College, South Essex College and the Thurrock Learning Campus in attendance at these events.
Contacting the Academy
The Ockendon Academy is happy to discuss progress of its students with parents at any time during the course of the year. The first port of call for parents should usually be their child’s form tutor. If you wish to discuss your child’s progress, you are advised to visit the Academy or telephone on (01708) 851661 and make an appointment with your child’s form tutor, who will be happy to make time to discuss progress or any other issue you wish to raise.
