CHANGES TO ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING TO PARENTS:
The Ockendon Academy is an ambitious, challenging and creative place to learn and work. Ofsted graded us as ‘good with outstanding features’ recognising our improved and consistently high standards of behaviour, attendance and punctuality as well as the academic success. Our students both achieve and enjoy their time at The Academy. We are committed and focussed on providing the highest quality learning and working activities and experiences so that we can be the best that we can be today, tomorrow and in the future.
I am really excited about the future of The Ockendon Academy and our ambition to have even better results and improved facilities. We are always looking forward, especially with our Studio School and Sixth Form as a school within an Academy. Please join us and share that ambition for the future.

The Institute of Financial Studies Visits our Studio School
The IFS, the exam board for the Certificate and Diploma in Financial Studies (KS5) visited us on the 29th April. David Anderson, our Customer Relationship Manager, was overwhelmed by both our outstanding facilities and our students. Our year 13s discussed how beneficial their Barclays work placement has been to them and how they had used their knowledge gained from the course in the real working environment, the combination of which has inspired them to pursue a career in the financial sector. Added to this, David even offered to talk to students about further study opportunities and the ‘tour of the square mile’, which gives students an insight into working in the city of London.
